Job summary

YSZ HS for Girls in New York seeks a Robotics and STEM teacher to lead hands-on, student-centered programs in our high school. This role fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving through robotics projects and cross-disciplinary activities.

You will guide the Robotics Club, prepare teams for the CIJE robotics competition, and teach STEM electives for 9th and 10th graders while contributing to project-based learning across the school.

Qualifications

• Warm, enthusiastic educator with a growth mindset.
• Background in STEM (engineering, robotics, computer science, or related field).
• Ability to guide multi-step projects and collaborative work.
• Comfort with technical instruction and open-ended problem-solving.
• Open to student-centered learning methods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• BA in Education or Science.
• MA in Education and/or Science Education preferred, or pursuing a master's in a STEM field.
• 1–3 years teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead our school’s Robotics Club, supporting students in building, coding, and refining their work.
• Prepare and guide a team in the annual CIJE robotics competition.
• Teach STEM electives for 9th and 10th grade.
• Contribute to project-based learning initiatives across the school.
• Support student participation in programs such as Shark Tank-style projects, helping them develop and present ideas.
