Job summary

Wheeling High School is seeking a strong, student-centered leader to serve as our Head Lacrosse Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports students academically, socially, and athletically within a diverse, equity-focused school community.

Qualifications

• ISBE or ASEP certification required.
• Previous head coaching experience at any level or varsity-level coordinating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the lacrosse program, including long-term planning, daily operations, and alignment with school and district values.
• Organize practices, competitions, and team events.
• Develop and manage the program budget and equipment.
• Recruit, support, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Coordinate with school administration, athletic department, and booster organizations.
• Foster positive relationships with parents, community members, and media outlets.
• Plan and supervise off-season opportunities, camps, clinics, and summer programming.
