Job summary

Ashland School District in Ashland, Oregon, is seeking a Baseball Head Coach at Ashland High School to lead and manage the baseball program, develop student-athletes, promote sportsmanship and teamwork, and ensure a safe, competitive environment.

The Head Coach will supervise assistant coaches, organize practices and games, oversee scheduling, travel, and equipment, ensure academic progress, and coordinate with the Athletics Department to support program development and district compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience playing and/or coaching baseball.
• Knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with high school students.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct practices, games, and team activities.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive baseball program aligned with school and district goals.
• Teach fundamental and advanced baseball skills, strategies, and conditioning.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive character development.
• Ensure compliance with district policies and regulations from governing bodies such as the OSAA.
• Organize and supervise tryouts, team selection, and player development.
• Monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
• Coordinate game schedules, travel, and equipment needs in collaboration with the Athletics Department.
• Maintain and inventory equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with players, families, staff, and administration.
• Represent the school positively within the community and at all events.
• Support offseason conditioning, camps, and program development as appropriate.
• Assist with fundraising efforts and program promotion.
