Job summary

MP Materials is seeking a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service and maintain a range of heavy‑duty mining equipment on site at our California facility. You will perform diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance, using OEM manuals and diagnostic tools to ensure reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining / crushing operations.
• Minimum 3 years’ supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License to drive company vehicles on and off property.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, haul trucks and loaders.
• Perform engine, transmission, brakes, differentials and hydraulic system work.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on hydraulic, powertrain and emission systems.
• Use diagnostic laptops and manufacturer online support for troubleshooting.
• Operate service trucks, cranes, forklifts and boom trucks safely.
• Perform welding and cutting using oxy-acetylene, MIG and stick processes.
• Maintain inventory of parts, lubricants and supplies.
• Document work orders and parts used; coordinate with team members.
• Adhere to safety policies and environmental regulations; participate in safety huddles.
