Job summary

Marathon County Public Library seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate large construction equipment and trucks. The role includes potential team leadership, field maintenance, and road-related projects under supervisor guidance.

Required: a valid Wisconsin Class A CDL or ability to obtain with air brakes/tanker endorsement; high school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year of relevant experience. Knowledge of safety and grading procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of relevant paid work experience.
• Possession of a valid Wisconsin Class A CDL without air brake restrictions, or must obtain one with air brakes and tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozer, excavator, motor grader, loader, or asphalt paver as assigned.
• Serve as lead worker and direct lower level employees on projects.
• Grade roadways and apply best management practices in fieldwork.
• Follow safety precautions and perform routine equipment maintenance.
