Targeted HR Consulting is partnering with a respected heavy civil contractor to identify an experienced Project Manager for its Columbia, South Carolina operations. You will lead diverse heavy civil projects from award through completion, working with an entrepreneurial leadership team to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration, with a strong backlog and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic, field-and-office environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience managing heavy civil, site development, underground utilities, roadway, grading, drainage, excavation, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead heavy civil construction projects from startup through final completion with a focus on safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and cost controls; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontractor selection, and contract administration to ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct routine jobsite visits to monitor progress, productivity, quality, and safety; identify risks and implement proactive solutions.
• Serve as primary point of contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders; prepare reports and manage change orders.
