Lead Head Start Teacher - ELC West (Finance)

Join Our Team with a SIGN ON BONUS for Full-Time Teaching Staff!

Earn a $250 bonus after 90 days and a $750 bonus after 6 months of employment.

As a cause-driven leader, you will role model behaviors that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adhere to YMCA and Head Start standards. Monitor professional development and fulfill required training hours. Supervise and implement programs in line with Head Start Performance Standards and YMCA policies. Complete duties related to the Child and Adult Care Food Program, maintain prompt hours, and communicate effectively with your team. Additional duties may be assigned based on program needs.

Classroom Activities:

• Create an inclusive environment based on DAP, curriculum, and standards.
• Plan and deliver individualized learning experiences using assessment data and family input.
• Promote positive interactions and set clear behavioral expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized learning space and meet developmental needs, including children with special needs.
• Communicate regularly with the team and ensure task completion.
• Implement CACFP programming to promote healthy eating.

Record Keeping & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation and timely data entry.
• Monitor and record each child's progress towards school readiness.
• Complete health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Submit reports and manage classroom supplies efficiently.

Parent/Family & Community Involvement:

• Engage parents as their child's first teacher and share developmental insights.
• Build positive relationships with families and encourage participation in activities.
• Attend meetings to discuss child progress and collaborate with community resources.

Supervision:

• Develop routines and supervise indoor/outdoor activities, maintaining ratios.
• Ensure child safety and accountability at all times.
• In the absence of the center manager, serve as person in charge according to ODJFS regulations.

Physical Demands:

Must meet physical requirements, including occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds, with accommodations available for disabilities. The work environment is usually moderate noise.
