Job summary

SoloPoint Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design and development of automated test equipment for aerospace and defense programs in California.

You will apply 5+ years of ATE design experience to create robust test systems and collaborate across hardware, software, PCB design, and mechanical teams. Responsibilities include defining system architecture, performing circuit analysis, designing ITAs, and owning customer-facing activities such as quotes and design reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and developing automated test equipment (ATE) in aerospace, defense, avionics, or closely related industries.
• Experience with schematic capture and circuit design using tools such as Altium or OrCAD.
• Hands-on capability to design and develop test program sets (TPS) and/or interface test adapters (ITA).
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, with domain exposure to MIL-STD-1553 and/or MIL-STD-1760 preferred for success in this environment.
• Experience leading and coordinating work across test development, software, PCB design, mechanical, and technician resources.
• Experience creating engineering documentation and supporting formal design reviews (PDR, CDR) and acceptance testing (ATP).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a multi-discipline engineering team delivering automated test systems and related deliverables.
• Define overall test system architecture, including hardware and software requirements, using COTS components where appropriate.
• Perform circuit and system analysis to configure test system resources and enable test development for complex electronics.
• Design and develop interface test adapters (ITAs) and supporting circuitry to simulate aircraft in-flight data, communications, and signals.
• Own customer-facing execution including quotes, statements of work, schedules, design reviews (PDR, CDR), acceptance test procedures (ATP), documentation, and post-delivery training and support.
