Job description

Leadership role focused on the continuous improvement of the company’s product lines, utilizing principles of Lean Six Sigma and OEE concepts such as availability, performance, and quality. Responsible for defining and improving software testing and release processes, ensuring all new and upgraded products follow the software development standards. Creates and oversees group policies, procedures, training, and scheduling, and manages performance requirements for the team.

Essential Functions:

  1. PLC Programming for new and existing customer projects.
  2. Provide electrical and controls support as needed.
  3. Drive the company towards product availability, performance, and quality goals through leadership and continuous improvement standards.
  4. Assign project resources and facilitate detailed testing plans and work prioritization.
  5. Conduct performance reviews and coach team members to foster a high-performing team.
  6. Lead discussions on application systems and requirements; organize meetings.
  7. Review requirements, specifications, and designs.
  8. Maintain the health and stability of development environments for efficient operations.
  9. Analyze production issues, develop mitigation tools, and monitor system health.
  10. Automate system recovery and perform vulnerability and risk management.
  11. Develop and maintain tools used by engineering and customer service teams.
  12. Provide technical leadership on current computer technologies and trends.
  13. Design system concepts, create detailed designs, and document solutions.
  14. Perform system-level design and analysis, including prototypes and trade studies.
  15. Build and evaluate prototypes hands-on.
  16. Collaborate with project and product managers on project goals and progress.
  17. Support project managers with mentoring, escalation, and training; define roles for project management.
  18. Influence stakeholders and hold project teams accountable for delivery on time, budget, and quality.
  19. Develop standards, metrics, processes, and tools for engineering project execution.
  20. Ensure project and process adherence to quality management systems.
  21. Establish and maintain documentation standards across product lines.
  22. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement high-quality designs, including software, electrical, and mechanical components.
  23. Lead recruitment and performance management of direct reports, providing development and mentorship.
  24. Provide fiscal leadership and continuous quality improvement to minimize operational expenses.
  25. Perform related duties as assigned.
  26. Basic knowledge of CAD software, electrical design, PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff), and leadership experience.
  27. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and influence teams.
  28. Project management and software development lifecycle experience are pluses, along with Lean Six Sigma knowledge.
  29. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and code versioning tools like SVN.
  30. Basic understanding of server applications, networking, and computer components is advantageous.
  31. Ability to travel as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification and experience are advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role; project management and healthcare automation experience are pluses.
