Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer to drive development of in-house server motherboards, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure robust, high-performance board designs.

The role requires strong x86 hardware expertise, high-speed signal integrity, and power regulation know-how, with hands-on PCB design and debugging skills, plus leadership potential within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or 8+ years with Bachelor's) required.
  • Strong understanding of x86 architecture and high-speed circuit design.
  • Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout with OrCAD/Allegro; knowledge of PCB structure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead schematic capture, layout review, BOM generation, debugging, and testing for server motherboards and related products.
  • Collaborate with layout, validation, software/firmware, and product engineering to resolve design issues early.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, layout instructions and test procedures.
  • Ensure designs meet specifications, EMC and energy regulations, and reliability expectations.
  • Provide documentation and support to contract manufacturers and production teams during prototyping and mass production.
