The Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an enthusiastic gymnastics professional to serve as a Lead Gymnastics Instructor. This is an exciting and fulfilling role within the Recreation Class program. The position will be responsible for a leadership role within our Recreational Gymnastics program and will support and collaborate with the Recreational Gymnastics Manager.
The Lead Gymnastics instructor serves Arlington County’s community and surrounding areas by offering safe, fun, and quality gymnastics classes for all. The Arlington County Gymnastics program has something for everyone, providing over 250 classes annually and supporting two competitive teams: the Arlington Aerials women’s competitive team and the Arlington Tigers men’s competitive team. The program is housed in the Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center, a 30,000 sf. facility that includes over 20,000 sf. of gymnastics.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience communicating with large and diverse groups, staying organized, managing priorities, being flexible, and motivating others. Candidates must exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making, and have basic computer skills, Microsoft Office products, and digital information management skills.
A pre‑hire background check will be conducted on all selected candidates, which may include criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. Candidates may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain background information.

Schedule varies based on facility events at Barcroft Sports & Fitness Center. Must be available to work varying shifts, which may include evenings and weekends (i.e., Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, and Saturday – Sunday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm).
