Pilot Company is hiring for a Guest Services role at our South Bend travel center. The position focuses on processing merchandise and fuel transactions while leading a small cashier team to deliver excellent guest service.

Responsibilities include shift leadership, end-of-shift reporting, compliance with sale regulations, maintaining a clean workspace, and assisting with deli and housekeeping tasks to support overall operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or hospitality operations is a plus.
• Ability to lead a small team and manage cash handling.
• Strong guest service mindset and conflict resolution skills.

• Lead a shift of one-to-two cashiers to process cash, credit, and debit transactions.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures.
• Follow guidelines for sale of restricted merchandise (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
• Maintain an organized and clean work area and use selling techniques to promote products.
• Ensure quality service for every guest and handle complaints per policy.
• Assist with other travel center functions such as deli, showers, restrooms, and stocking.

Job Description

The purpose of this job is to process merchandise and fuel transactions. Essential Functions include:

• Lead a shift of one-to-two cashiers to process all types of cash, credit, and debit transactions
• Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures
• Follow company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items (i.e., alcohol, tobacco)
• Maintain an organized and clean work area
• Use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products
• Ensure quality service is delivered to every guest
• Handle guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines; resolve team member conflict; and communicate issues to management
• Determine break schedules and team member placement during shift
• Assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc.
• Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
• Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Complete other duties as assigned

Pay Rates Starting between: $11.54 - $16.08 / hour
