Job summary

Tioga Downs Casino Resort is seeking a Lead Guest Room Attendant to supervise and support the housekeeping team in maintaining the property’s guest rooms, suites, and public areas. The role emphasizes guest satisfaction and adherence to cleanliness standards.

The ideal candidate has prior housekeeping experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This is a regular full-time, on-site position supporting the Nichols, NY property.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned guest rooms and suites to established standards.
• Directly supervise Guest Room Attendants and provide training and support.
• Plan, assign, and direct work for attendants during shifts.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storerooms and shelves.
• Replenish housekeeping and storeroom supplies as needed.
• Remove trash and dirty linens from guest rooms and suites.
• Wash, dry, and fold linens in the laundry area.
• Assist with Houseman duties and cleaning of public areas.
• Assist Sales and F&B departments with event clean-up.
• Report items found in guest rooms and manage lost-and-found.

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Lead Guest Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. In this role, you will help ensure guest rooms, suites, public areas, and assigned spaces meet the hotel’s standards of cleanliness and presentation while providing exceptional service to our guests.

What You'll Do

• Clean assigned guest rooms and suites to the hotel’s established standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Directly supervise Guest Room Attendants and provide training, guidance, and support as needed.
• Plan, assign, and direct work for Guest Room Attendants during assigned shifts.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storerooms and ensure shelves are properly organized.
• Replenish housekeeping and storeroom supplies as needed.
• Remove trash and dirty linens from guest rooms and suites.
• Sweep, vacuum, scrub, mop, and clean carpet and flooring in guest rooms and assigned areas.
• Spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, and other surfaces as needed.
• Report maintenance problems and submit or complete appropriate work repair orders.
• Wash, dry, and fold linens in the laundry area.
• Assist with Houseman duties and cleaning of public areas.
• Assist the Sales and Food & Beverage departments with event clean-up and breakdowns.
• Report items found in guest rooms to the appropriate Lead Guest Room Attendant and properly tag and deliver lost-and-found items to the Housekeeping Office for storage.
• Take responsibility for an assigned room key and return it to the appropriate person at the end of the shift.
• Address guest and employee concerns professionally and assist with resolving housekeeping-related problems.
• Communicate important information to housekeeping team members and other departments as needed.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach with guests and fellow employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, equipment, and controls. Employees may occasionally need to reach with their hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The position requires working in guest rooms, housekeeping areas, laundry areas, public spaces, and other areas throughout the property. Employees may be exposed to varying noise levels and cleaning products and must follow applicable safety procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Guest Room Attendants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
