Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager at the McDowell Store, Petaluma, CA. The role is flexible between part-time and full-time, reporting to the Store Manager, with a high-sensitivity safety requirement.

The ASM oversees daily operations, supervises staff and volunteers, and ensures adherence to Goodwill policies while driving performance and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum two years’ experience in a supervisory/management role.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good math skills.
• Experience supervising or training employees, clients, or volunteers, with feedback.
• Ability to handle customer inquiries tactfully and professionally.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and champion the 1-Touch process to maximize efficiency, safety, production, and sales goals.
• Maintain inventory quality standards; set standards for each department.
• Support the store budget and financial objectives under the Store Manager.
• Train employees and clients in work habits, responsibilities, and policies.
• Submit accurate payroll records promptly.
• Resolve issues with team members, clients, and donors with timely feedback and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and outcomes.
