Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, hydrology, geology, environmental science, or a closely related field.
  • Six years of progressively responsible professional work experience in hydrological sciences with emphasis on groundwater hydrology.
  • Two years of supervisory experience overseeing administrative and professional subordinates.
  • Master of Science in hydrology, geology, or water resource management may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Head the Ground Water Branch, overseeing its overall operations and supervising three section heads and staff.
  • Regulate groundwater use through well, pump, and groundwater use permits.
  • Enforce applicable laws, rules, policies, permit conditions, and procedures; determine and direct compliance actions.
  • Coordinate hydrologic studies, prepare technical correspondence, reports, and recommendations.
  • Represent the branch in interagency and public meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
