Job summary

Saint Leo University is seeking a Groundskeeper to manage landscaping and grounds maintenance across university properties. This role includes mowing, pruning, weed control, irrigation maintenance and general upkeep of outdoor spaces to ensure clean, safe, and appealing grounds for students and staff.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, horticultural training, and pesticide certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Horticultural training required.
• Certification in pesticide application.
• Knowledge of OSHA and local safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Mows lawns and trims grass around walks, flower beds and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.
• Removes debris using mowers, tractors and tools.
• Maintains and sharpens tools; performs minor repairs on equipment.
