Job summary

Santa Clara Development Corporation is seeking a Lead Grounds Keeper/Irrigation Tech to support the Golf Superintendent in daily maintenance and to oversee irrigation operations on the Black Mesa Golf Course. The role involves coordinating tasks, supervising crew members, and ensuring efficient grounds care with hand or power tools.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
Driver’s license is required to operate equipment.
Fluent reading/writing in English.
Experience supervising a crew or team.
Knowledge of grounds keeping methods and materials.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule and assign daily tasks for the grounds crew.
Oversee irrigation repair and maintenance and supervise installation projects.
Train new and current staff in safe operation of turf management equipment.
Perform planting, fertilizing, spraying, mowing and other lawn care tasks as needed.
Keep equipment and storage areas clean and organized.
Maintain inventory of irrigation supplies and coordinate with management.
