Job summary

Scenthound is seeking a Lead Groomer to oversee grooming and bathing teams, providing leadership, coaching, and training to keep high standards. The role emphasizes mentorship, schedule management, and safety for dogs and staff.

The successful candidate will guide others, ensure adherence to sanitary practices, and contribute to a positive learning environment while maintaining the Scenthound brand and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1+ year grooming experience or graduation from grooming school
• Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and tools of the trade
• Strength to lift up to 70 pounds; stamina to stand long periods
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
• Weekend availability

Responsibilities

• Groom to Scenthound standards while leading grooming and bathing teams
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the grooming team
• Create an environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork
• Teach new groomers the Scenthound standards; ongoing coaching
• Identify when/where help is needed to keep schedule on track
• Ensure safety of dogs and team members at all times
• Adhere to sanitary and cleaning practices
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Scenter Manager
• Support continuous improvement and training initiatives
