Lead Grant Writer sought for a fast-growing company that delivers funding to select clients from US federal, state, non-profits, and other sources via contracts and grants. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grant Writer with expertise in securing funding for initiatives related to climate and energy.

This role is responsible for working alongside the Program Manager in support of industry-focused clients pursuing funding support. The Lead Grant Writer will lead the full range of technical activities required to conceptualize, prepare, and deliver grant proposals to agencies such as the Department of Energy, ensuring the production of high-quality technical documents for funding applications and publications. This includes writing, editing, proofreading grant proposals, and supporting clients in interfacing with funding agencies. The role requires being deadline-driven and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines.

Deliverables:
  • Conceptualize and execute high-quality, clear grant applications, translating scientific content into accessible language for reviewers at all levels.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to align client projects with funding agency needs and technical focus.
  • Conduct literature and product searches to assess and incorporate new ideas relevant to client projects.
  • Work closely with technical and business teams to develop and transform ideas into compelling grant proposals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological advances and market areas relevant to grant opportunities.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and deliverables for various clients concurrently.
  • Assist in assembling scientific documents such as large institutional grants, annual, and progress reports.
Necessary Qualifications:
  • PhD preferred; Master’s degree in engineering or relevant STEM fields (e.g., environmental policy, science, oceanography).
  • At least 1-year scientific writing experience.
  • Deep understanding of technologies related to the Department of Energy, including climate data, carbon capture, clean energy, renewable energy, solar, hydrogen, fossil fuels, water pollution, offshore wind, and energy storage.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, including SBIR proposals or other funding mechanisms.
