Job description

Do you have a passion for non-profit accounting and ensuring financial accountability for grant-funded programs? Are you an expert in restricted funds and grant compliance? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Grant Accountant to work remotely, and help our client achieve their goals.

• Oversee all aspects of grant accounting, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and federal regulations
• Manage the grant accounting cycle, including setup, budgeting, tracking expenditures and generating financial reports
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for grantors, including budget vs. actual reports, expenditure reports and cash flow projections
• Work closely with program staff to ensure proper documentation and coding of grant-related expenses
• Consolidate and eliminate financial statements for grant-funded programs
• Support the annual audit process by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries related to grant funding
• Maintain a strong understanding of current accounting standards (GASB) for non-profit organizations
• Stay up-to-date on relevant grant regulations and funding requirements
• Supervise and mentor Grant Accountant staff, if applicable
• Utilize Lawson / Infor accounting software to manage grant financials
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience in non-profit accounting, with a preference for healthcare experience
• Proven experience in restricted fund and grant accounting
• Strong understanding of consolidation and elimination accounting
• Experience with annual audit processes
• Proficiency in Lawson / Infor accounting software required

This Lead Grant Accountant position is a remote opportunity, but you must reside in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West. The position is a contract role for 10-18 months and will pay up to $42 per hour.
