Job summary

Branscome is seeking a Construction Grade Foreman in Hampton Roads to lead a grading crew on highway projects. You will coordinate work, supervise daily activities, schedule trucks and equipment, and enforce safety policies on site.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, proven foreman experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to access military bases. Strong communication and blueprint-reading skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in highway and road construction and asphalt paving.
• Proven experience as a construction foreman.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a positive driving record.
• Ability to access military bases.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction work according to plans.
• Assign and supervise daily activities of construction personnel.
• Coordinate and schedule trucks and equipment to job site.
• Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.
• Supervise and train workers.
• Prepare and maintain required reports.
• Assist the Project Superintendent with daily records, events, and conditions.
• Plan, assign and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare assessment of any damages and arrange for necessary preparations.
• Review, verify and submit timecards to payroll.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
