Job summary

Ames Construction seeks an experienced foreman to lead field crews on highway heavy civil projects. You will supervise on-site activities, interpret plans, manage equipment, and ensure safety and schedule compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as foreman/supervisor in highway heavy civil construction.
• Willingness to travel.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices.
• Must be familiar with heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Provides on-site supervision and direction to crew members.
• Familiar with project specifications and ability to understand plans.
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
• Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly.
• Fill out daily foreman reports.
• Analyze and resolve issues that may arise unexpectedly.
• Ability to explain and understands survey and grade staking (Lasers, Transits, and GPS).
• Manage all excavating activities for your crew.
• Other duties may be assigned.
