Job Description Summary

The Lead Government Business Controllership Travel Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting training sessions, and auditing travel expenses to ensure compliance with government accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government accounting, excellent organizational skills and communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

The Lead Government Business Controllership Analyst will work seamlessly with a team of government accounting professionals to support business objectives and be accountable for the following:

SOP Development:

  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to government accounting and travel expense management.
  • Ensure SOPs align with applicable government regulations, policies, and industry best practices.

Training:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on government accounting standards, travel expense policies, and SOPs.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.

Auditing:

  • Conduct regular audits of travel expenses to ensure compliance with government accounting standards and organizational policies.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management.
  • Build positive relationships with our customers, improve communications and ensure timely follow-up to government questions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or leadership position
  • Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint (i.e. Pivot Tables, Data Sorting, basic lookups) for data analysis
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements related to travel expenses. (FAR, FTR, CAS)
  • Proven experience in developing SOPs and conducting training programs.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The base pay range for this position is $95,900.00 - 127,800.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on 10/29/25.
