Job summary

Sun City Hilton Head in Bluffton, SC, is seeking a full-time Golf Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and construction of 18 or 27-hole courses, contributing to a positive experience for members and guests while growing knowledge of golf club operations.

As an associate of Troon, you'll join a global leader in golf and community management, manage budgets, schedules, and training, and ensure compliance with all regulations and safety practices.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent and 3–4 years related experience.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of turf management and golf course maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plans, organizes and directs maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices involved in growing turf grasses, trees and ornamentals.
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports.
• Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors, when possible.
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location).
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations.
• Ensures proper training for associates and develops ongoing training programs.
• Regular and reliable attendance; incorporates safe work practices.
