Job summary

Fort McDowell Enterprises seeks a Head Mechanic for our golf course maintenance team in Fort McDowell, AZ. The role oversees mechanical repairs on diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment used on the course.

Essential duties include diagnostics, overhauls, blade sharpening, welding, and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications. A valid driver's license and 2+ years in a golf course shop are required.

Qualifications

• Requires working knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment and automotive mechanics.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a golf course maintenance shop.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Must have a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment used on the golf course.
• Perform overhauls, sharpen mower blades, and service transmissions, differentials, carburetors, and hydraulic systems.
• Weld or machine parts as needed and perform emergency repairs on site.
• Interpret repair manuals and safety/environmental guidelines to meet specifications.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance program and safe, clean work environment.
