Job summary

BREC is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to oversee maintenance of multiple golf courses, supervising staff, operating equipment and managing daily operations. Duties include scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring proper course conditions and maintenance of shops and equipment.

The role requires a 4-year or 2-year degree with related experience, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and several years of supervisory work in golf course maintenance. GCSA Class A is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university, or 2-year accredited degree plus relevant work experience.
• Major in Horticulture, Agronomy or Turf Management preferred.
• Golf Course Superintendent’s Assn. (GCSA) Class “A” certification preferred.
• Valid LA driver’s license.
• 3 years supervisory experience in golf course maintenance; 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and implement yearly work schedules for all BREC golf courses.
• Assist in preparing budgets for all BREC golf courses.
• Assist in the overall maintenance operations of all BREC golf courses.
• Inspect golf courses daily and make decisions; direct staff activities.
• Assist course Superintendents in implementing training programs.
• Identify problems; recommend and implement remedies.
• Supervise and perform daily golf course duties as needed.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to prioritize work.
