Job summary

Klein Automotive Group is seeking a Lead GM Technician to lead on the service floor, diagnose complex electrical and powertrain issues, and ensure high-quality repairs that get it right the first time.

You will mentor junior technicians, document work clearly, and work closely with the service advisor team to communicate repair needs to customers. A strong GM World Class Technician certification or ASE Master status is preferred, along with a solid set of tools and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• GM World Class Technician certification or ASE Master Technician status preferred
• Extensive hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing complex automotive electrical and powertrain systems
• Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Lead the service floor by tackling the most challenging diagnostic issues and complex repairs
• Maintain high standards of workmanship to ensure every vehicle leaves the shop running safely and efficiently
• Mentor and guide newer technicians, helping them sharpen their skills and grow in their automotive careers
• Document all service work clearly and accurately to keep customers informed and records precise
• Collaborate with the service advisor team to communicate repair needs directly and honestly to customers
• Keep workspace organized and uphold a clean, efficient, professional garage environment

• General Motors World Class Technician certification or equivalent ASE Master Technician status preferred but not required.
• Extensive hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing complex automotive electrical and powertrain systems.

• Personal set of high-quality automotive tools.
• Deep familiarity with GM diagnostic software, including GDS2 and MDI 2.
• Strong ability to mentor junior technicians and foster a collaborative shop atmosphere.
