Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Indianapolis is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Compliance Engineer to lead complex environmental compliance initiatives. You will guide multinational clients on permits, audits, and regulatory strategies, while mentoring teams and delivering high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a PE, 5+ years of compliance experience, and strong leadership with excellent communication skills for client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and auditing.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for client engagement.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% regionally and occasionally nationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight on hazardous waste, hazardous materials, and compliance projects.
• Manage project execution including budgeting, QA/QC, and regulatory assessments.
• Lead development of permits, reports (air, EPCRA, SPCC, stormwater, NPDES, wastewater).
• Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with ERM subject matter experts to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build strong client relationships and manage scope, budget, and schedule expectations.
• Support Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers in delivering high-quality outcomes.
