Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Researcher Lead in the Comba Laboratory, Neuropathology, to drive studies on glioblastoma biology and therapeutic resistance. The role demands independent leadership and collaboration across a multidisciplinary team using patient-derived glioma models, organotypic slices, and orthotopic mouse systems.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience.
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of related experience.
Associate's degree in a related field with 5 years of related experience.
Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

Lead independent research projects investigating glioblastoma progression, tumor brain interactions, and therapeutic resistance.
Design, execute, and optimize experimental approaches using molecular biology, cell culture, patient-derived glioma models, orthotopic mouse models, imaging, and multi-omics technologies.
Analyze, interpret, and communicate scientific findings through publications and presentations at conferences; assist in grant applications.
