Job summary

State of Washington seeks a seasoned Region GIS Applications & IT Supervisor to lead GIS application development and IT operations for the Southeast Region. The role combines hands-on GIS work with technical leadership, guiding a team to deliver web-based and mobile GIS solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/IS/GIS/Geography or related field with at least 4 years of IT/GIS experience.
Experience developing, modifying, configuring, testing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications and tools.
Experience using enterprise GIS technologies for spatial analysis and geospatial data management.
Proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages for automation.
Knowledge of relational databases, data structures, and data exchange between systems.
Experience supervising, mentoring, and evaluating professional IT staff.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, modify, test, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot GIS applications and tools.
Perform advanced GIS analysis and support Region programs and field operations.
Supervise and lead the Region IT Unit including workload prioritization and staff development.
Oversee the Region’s IT service desk operations and guide support staff.
Evaluate GIS/app technologies and develop reliable, scalable solutions.
Collaborate with DNR IT and other partners to align with agency standards.
