City of Columbus is seeking a GIS Lead to drive initiatives and manage requests from the Director's Office. The role touches three divisions and involves developing GIS data, conducting spatial analyses, and creating maps and reports.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and two years of GIS experience; GIS Professional certification may substitute. Additional experience and master's degree can adjust requirements according to policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years GIS experience.
• GISP certification may substitute for the education requirement.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Additional years of GIS software experience can substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS initiatives and manage work requests from the Director's Office.
• Develop and maintain GIS data and related databases to delineate attributes of geographic areas.
• Conduct specialized spatial analyses including nonspatial data analysis.
• Create maps, reports and documents using GIS data and statistics.
• Perform QA/QC procedures for GIS databases and data quality.
