Job summary

Skanska is seeking a dynamic Lead Estimator (Geotechnical) for the Underpinning & Foundations group in Queens, NY. The role involves developing estimates for large heavy civil projects, coordinating with subcontractors, and self-perform work cost analysis to meet tight deadlines.

The Lead Estimator will work with the Senior Estimator and may serve as Pursuit Sponsor on select projects, applying strong scheduling and leadership skills to drive successful bids and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or similar technical training.
• 5+ years of prior relevant experience in deep foundation and excavation.
• Advanced knowledge of geotechnical job area typically obtained through advanced education plus experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for large, complex heavy civil/mechanical projects.
• Prepare quantity surveys, subcontractor and vendor scopes, and quote analyses.
• Estimate costs of self-perform work and ensure estimates meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with Senior Estimator and Pursuit Sponsor when needed and manage team workflows.
