Qualifications

  • 15–20 years of industry experience in technical geophysics, including demonstrated land operations experience.
  • Depth in quantitative interpretation: rock physics modeling, seismic inversion, elastic-property utilization, and seismic attribute analysis.
  • Hands-on experience planning seismic surveys and overseeing processing/imaging, understanding product provenance and quality.
  • Track record deploying geophysical products to end users and driving full utilization for business decisions.
  • Experience supporting exploration and development objectives, including drilling, pore pressure prediction, and depth prognosis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of quantitative interpretation products across land assets, including rock physics modeling and inversion.
  • Perform and QC well ties, wavelet extraction, synthetic generation, fluid substitution, AVO modeling, and tuning analysis.
  • Ensure QI products are physically consistent and fit for purpose for decision support.
  • Deploy geophysical and QI products to end users, translating outputs into decision-ready insights.
  • Partner with interpreters, geologists, petrophysicists, and reservoir/drilling engineers to embed QI into workflows.
  • Provide training and guidance so end users can apply products effectively.
  • Act as a steward for data/products, ensuring full exploitation of seismic volumes, inversions, and attributes.
  • Identify data/product gaps and drive uptake to unlock subsurface value.
  • Apply elastic properties and attributes to reservoir characterization and uncertainty quantification.
  • Support exploration prospect evaluation and de-risking, and provide QI input to development decisions.
  • Apply geophysics to drilling/completions and depth-prognosis for well landing.
  • Deliver depth prognosis and time-to-depth conversion with uncertainty analysis.
  • Set technical direction for QI workflows; perform peer reviews and QC.
  • Mentor junior geophysicists and collaborate with ENGINE and business units.
