Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to provide technical direction for Generator projects in New York. You will coordinate engineering activities, manage customer communications, and drive change management with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include leading kickoff and design liaison meetings, reviewing contracts, evaluating impacts of scope changes, and mentoring engineering and PM staff. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and/or Field Engineering related to Generator Projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, approximately 10%.
  • Ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Leadership-quality communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer-facing experience.
  • Experience with GTCC – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
  • Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of plant system design engineering, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and/or testing.
  • Continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Demonstration and adherence to Vernova Way Behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical project management and technical direction for assigned Generator projects
  • Drive coordination of engineering activities and critical issue resolution for OTR-related issues
  • Serve as technical liaison for customers and EPC representatives
  • Act as single point of contact for customer technical inquiries, change requests, and communications related to generators and auxiliaries
  • Drive lessons learned into design engineering organizations
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Management and Applications/Regional Customer Applications Engineering
  • Conduct Customer Kick-Off Meetings and/or Design Liaison Meetings
  • Review contract documentation and communicate project requirements to design functions
  • Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested scope changes and implement approved changes through the Change Management Process
  • Support resolution of cross-functional design complexities and technical issues
  • Mitigate engineering schedule issues and prevent delivery delays or late customer deliverables
  • Manage the Engineering Budget and provide quarterly Estimate at Completions to Finance
  • Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and installation personnel
  • Present project issue resolutions to upper management, highlight risks, and create action plans
