Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the K8 General Surgery Med-Surg Unit to deliver patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment in Asheville, NC. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will lead nursing care during the shift, collaborate with the management team, and act as a resource for staff while upholding Mission Health’s values.

The CNC will oversee admissions/discharges, staff scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure quality outcomes and an exceptional patient

Qualifications

• 1+ years applicable nursing experience.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse in North Carolina or with an active compact license.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes for efficient throughput and high-quality care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care services.
• Collaborate with management to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Support patient-first philosophy and service recovery as needed.
• Operationalize nursing strategies to improve engagement (rounding, hourly rounds).
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selection, and training of new staff.
• Implement actions for training, development, conflict resolution, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment.
