Job summary

Southern Cremations & Funerals in Georgia is seeking a qualified Funeral Director/Embalmer to oversee funeral arrangements, embalming, and service coordination in accordance with Georgia law, while guiding families with compassionate, professional service.

You will supervise apprentices and support a team of funeral staff, collaborate with sales to present service options, and ensure paperwork and licensing requirements are meticulously handled.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia State Funeral Director License or ability to reciprocate.
• Current Georgia State Embalmer License or ability to reciprocate.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all licensed duties with making funeral arrangements, embalming, and conducting services as prescribed by Georgia Law.
• Supervise Apprentices under your license and/or assist supervision under another Funeral Director listed as preceptor.
• Manage Funeral Assistants, Administrative Assistants and Apprentices assigned to assist in arrangements.
• Perform all other job duties in the Funeral Home or Cemetery as needed for company needs.
