D365 Business Analyst Consultant – Sales & Production

Location: Orlando, FL Employment Type: Full-Time | Salaried Work Arrangement: On-Site

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lead Functional Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 F&SCM) to join an established organization in the Oviedo, Florida area. This position will serve as the senior functional resource responsible for the Sales and Production capabilities within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM. The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders, implementation consultants, internal developers, and data teams to translate complex operational requirements into scalable, sustainable ERP solutions. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands‑on experience with D365 Sales and Production modules, a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, and a configure‑before‑customize approach to ERP implementation and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

D365 Solution Design & Functional Leadership

Lead functional solution design across Sales and Production processes, including sales order management, pricing, fulfillment, production control, bills of materials (BOMs), formulas, routes, resource planning, and scheduling. Conduct fit‑to‑standard and fit‑gap assessments to identify opportunities to leverage standard D365 functionality. Evaluate cross‑functional dependencies involving Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Procurement, Master Planning, Quality Management, Cost Management, and Finance. Develop functional requirements, process flows, configuration specifications, and solution design documentation.

Configuration & Process Optimization

Lead hands‑on configuration of D365 F&SCM Sales and Production functionality. Configure sales order parameters, pricing structures, delivery settings, production groups, BOMs, formulas, routes, resources, and scheduling. Identify opportunities to improve business processes through standard ERP capabilities rather than unnecessary customization. Evaluate system enhancements and Microsoft releases to improve operational efficiency and reduce technical complexity.

Implementation & Stakeholder Collaboration

Serve as the senior functional liaison between business stakeholders, implementation partners, and internal technology teams. Facilitate requirements workshops, solution demonstrations, design reviews, and fit‑gap sessions. Review implementation‑partner recommendations to ensure alignment with business objectives and D365 best practices. Collaborate with developers to define functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and business justification for necessary customizations. Support sales‑related EDI integrations through testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

Testing, Deployment & Continuous Improvement

Lead functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business validation activities. Develop test scenarios, expected results, and acceptance criteria. Support training, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and post‑go‑live stabilization. Troubleshoot complex issues involving sales orders, inventory, production scheduling, costing, integrations, and data quality. Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve system performance, and increase adoption of standard D365 functionality.

Functional Governance

Act as a trusted advisor to Sales, Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and IT leadership. Present solution alternatives, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to stakeholders. Provide functional oversight for Sales and Production configuration changes. Mentor Business Analysts and other team members on D365 functionality and ERP best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. 6–7+ years of relevant ERP, business systems, or functional consulting experience, including significant hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM experience. Minimum of two full end‑to‑end Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM implementations. Demonstrated expertise in both Sales and Production modules within D365 F&SCM. Proven experience leading functional design, configuration, fit‑gap analysis, testing, deployment, and post‑go‑live support. Strong understanding of sales order processing, production control, manufacturing operations, inventory management, and supply chain workflows. Experience working with implementation partners, developers, and cross‑functional business teams. Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable ERP solutions. Strong communication, stakeholder management, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with manufacturing, production, or distribution environments. Familiarity with EDI integrations supporting sales order processes. Knowledge of adjacent D365 modules, including Warehouse Management, Master Planning, Procurement, Quality Management, and Finance. Experience improving or simplifying heavily customized ERP environments. Experience mentoring junior functional consultants or Business Analysts.

Compensation & Benefits

Our client offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, which may include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development opportunities

If you are an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM Functional Consultant with a strong background in Sales and Production and a proven record of successful ERP implementations, we encourage you to apply.
