Job summary

York Space Systems seeks an experienced engineering leader to head the Test Platforms application teams within the Simulation, Integration and Test Department. You will coordinate requirements, own roadmaps, and ensure end-to-end platform coherence across test execution, artifact management, and simulation GUIs.

You will stay hands-on, review code, mentor engineers, and drive fast, quality releases while partnering with SRE/DevSecOps, Test Infrastructure and external customers to accelerate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or greater in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Experience leading a software team, including tasking, technical direction, and prioritization.
• Demonstrated experience owning a product roadmap and release cadence for user-facing software.
• Demonstrated full stack development experience, with proficiency across both frontend (React or equivalent) and backend (Python).
• Experience designing and working with APIs and the data services behind them.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Demonstrated proficiency in a Linux environment, with bash scripting, and with Docker and containerization.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Git and modern Agile software development practices and tools.
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, priorities, and progress clearly to both engineers and upper management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and support of three full stack platforms.
• Manage a team of 5-7 engineers, set priorities, and drive roadmaps.
• Stay hands-on, review code and contribute directly.
• Coordinate platform requirements with internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with SRE/DevSecOps on deployment and reliability across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Drive integration across SIT portfolio including Maestro, simulation tooling, and backend data services.
• Support large test initiatives with internal stakeholders and ensure timely releases.
• Develop product documentation and user guides.
