Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive design, development and delivery of digital solutions for the CLM portfolio within Global Engineering. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor teams, and champion engineering excellence and secure, scalable products.

The role requires 5+ years of Java/JEE with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices, plus strong DevOps and Azure DevOps experience in a financial services environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack Java/JEE development experience.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL, Elasticsearch and enterprise integration.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Linux, cloud platforms, VMware, networking and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise digital solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
• Drive optimization, logging, monitoring, dashboarding, and security administration.
• Ensure code quality via architecture reviews and testing.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define solutions and priorities.
• Monitor system health and drive continuous improvement.
