Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a skilled full-stack developer to design and implement end-to-end components of custom applications, covering the UI, business logic, data and integration layers, plus testing and maintenance.

The role involves working with SQL, APIs, microservices, and modern web tech (HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, React), and participating in Agile, DevOps, and cloud engineering practices to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

4-year college degree required with mathematical background.
Exposure to financial calculation preferred.
Experience with SQL Server, Azure and GitHub.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines/DevOps practices.
Experience with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with full-stack Java/JEE development and Python.
Strong expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and web application development.

Responsibilities

Resolves problems, identifies the most appropriate solution and may establish new techniques to ensure the team meets objectives.
Has direct impact on the quality of the tasks performed or services provided by the team.
Ensure code quality through architecture reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards.
Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud engineering practices to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Collaborate with product, business, and technology stakeholders to define solutions and strategic priorities.
Monitor system health, resolve stability and scalability issues, and drive continuous improvement.
