Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 (DevOps) to drive transformation within Intelligent Foundations and Experiences. You will lead diverse projects and mentor engineers to deliver cloud-based solutions for millions of customers.

You will work with Java/Scala/Python/Go/Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP/Azure, while shaping design standards, architecture, and performance across Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in internal/external technology communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of customers.
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and various DBs; leverage Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools.
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Identify improvements, refactor code, reduce tech debt, and enhance system performance.
• Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools in a 'you build it, you own it' environment.
