Job summary

Capital One is seeking Full-stack Software Engineers to join its Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) group. You will lead diverse projects, mentor teams, and drive large-scale cloud-based solutions across regulatory needs with a modern tech stack including Java, Node.js, Python, and TypeScript.

You will collaborate with product managers and architects, advancing the engineering culture with CI/CD, IaC, and observability in distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• 7+ years of experience coding with Java
• 3+ years of experience with AWS
• 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks
• 4+ years of experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing frameworks
• 1+ year of mentoring engineers and driving professional development
• 1+ year of experience leveraging observability to optimize performance

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers
• Mentor engineers and participate in technical communities
• Collaborate with product managers and deliver cloud-based solutions
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, and JS/TS across services
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for design and operations
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects
• Identify areas for improvement and reduce technical debt
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a fast-moving environment
