The role

Archax has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Full Stack Developer to join our growing technology team and software platform for a new digital asset exchange; focused on an institutional client base. The ideal applicant will bring previous experience of developing scalable mission-critical financial systems, working with global teams, ensuring best practices, and staying within project timelines.

As a Lead Developer, you will lead a team of 3 engineers, make recommendations for tools, maintenance, and testing strategies, and assist in creating a maintainable application landscape alongside other Developers, Leads, and Architects. Archax operates using Agile principles on a traditional 2-week scrum cycle.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

1. Lead a software development project team (around 6 or more developers) and act as the technical expert, owning the development process;
2. Analyse, design, develop, test, and deploy applications with a clean-code approach, acting as the most senior technical member of the team;
3. Research new technologies, multi-task on multiple projects with other team members;
4. Follow software development processes and coding conventions, using Agile/SCRUM principles and working closely with other Leads, Developers, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Testers;
5. Break down detailed specifications and implement technical requirements based on the needs of the company and its clients;
6. Motivate and manage your development team, support and mentor, conduct routine performance coaching, and lead by example;
7. Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner in a highly scalable development environment;
8. Contribute ideas to improve process and development practices;
9. Work closely with the Scrum Master to coordinate and lead all required Scrum meetings with stakeholders and product/business owners, ensuring effective communication;
10. Lead meetings with stakeholders, business analysts, developers, architects, and clients in English.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

The Senior Full Stack Developer should have excellent technical knowledge in analyzing, developing, testing, and deploying solutions, including:

• A relevant degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant experience;
• Proven success in developing innovative solutions and proof-of-concepts;
• Experience estimating, scoping, and writing statements of work;
• Experience producing well-designed, testable, efficient code using best practices;
• Expertise in Typescript/React, MySQL, containerized technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices;
• Excellent knowledge of Cloud, especially AWS, with experience in banking/fintech sectors;
• Understanding of customer business value in deploying financial applications;
• Experience working within a development team, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment;
• Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.

Other Skills and Experience:

• Experience in the financial services industry, capital markets, and trading software solutions;
• Knowledge of Messaging architecture (ZeroMQ, Pub/Sub, WebSockets, Protobufs);
• Understanding of blockchain solutions;
• Experience with Electron;
• Experience with multi-threaded real-time/low latency systems;
• Understanding of cloud-based architecture including AWS Blockchain, Lambda, Beanstalk, Serverless, Data management, and application middleware architectures.
