Pangea is seeking a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to help unify our three frontend applications around React Native; scale and build out new features for our customers; and grow our frontend engineering team. We build and maintain features that improve usability, prevent fraud, and create frontend experiences for iOS, Android, and Web, consuming our backend services to launch new markets, payment methods, and capabilities. Our primary development platform is React Native, transitioning from legacy features built with Swift, Kotlin, and React.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, and maintain frontend features and architecture that consume the Pangea backend services.
2. Lead the completion of our frontend refactor project, unifying our three applications around React Native.
3. Establish and guide the frontend team to meet best practices for automated testing, from unit to end-to-end tests.
4. Contribute to maintaining and removing platform-specific code for iOS, Android, and Web.
5. Review code via pull requests, improve engineering practices, and mentor other frontend engineers.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to introduce new features for customers.

Ideal Candidate:

1. 7-10+ years in frontend development, with substantial experience in React.
2. 3+ years of professional experience in React Native.
3. Advocate of best practices in frontend architecture, testing, and maintainability.
4. Passionate about creating testable, maintainable, high-quality software.
5. Experience with observability and monitoring tools to enhance frontend performance.
6. Proven track record mentoring junior to senior frontend developers.
7. Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to identify and implement new features.
8. Commitment to continuous learning and development.

Bonus Points:

• Experience migrating native applications to React Native.
• Experience in native iOS or Android development.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual salary range is $116,000 to $160,000, determined by experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include bonuses, stock units, health insurance, 401(k), PTO, parental leave, and more.
