Placements24 is assisting a fintech client in Welkom, Free State, to hire a Lead Front-End Developer. You will guide a talented team, shape front-end architecture, and ensure scalable, performant interfaces using React or Vue.js.

You will mentor developers, collaborate with back-end, UI/UX, and product managers, and drive code quality and best practices in a hybrid work environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 5-7 years frontend experience, 2+ in lead/senior role.
• Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Deep React or Vue.js experience.
• Proficiency with Redux/Vuex.
• Experience with build tools and testing frameworks.
• Strong RESTful API knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding fintech startup, is seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Developer to join their dynamic technology team in Welkom, Free State. This role is crucial for developing and implementing state-of-the-art user interfaces for our innovative financial platforms. You will lead a talented team of front-end developers, guiding technical decisions, code quality, and project execution. The ideal candidate will have a deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js, a strong understanding of UI/UX principles, and a passion for building scalable and performant web applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of responsive, high-performance, and user-friendly web applications using React or Vue.js.
• Architect and implement scalable front-end solutions, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with back-end developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Mentor and guide junior front-end developers, fostering best practices and professional growth.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
• Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and industry trends, evaluating and integrating them where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in front-end development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
• Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Deep knowledge and practical experience with React or Vue.js frameworks.
• Proficiency in state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Vuex).
• Experience with build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of the Free State tech ecosystem is beneficial.
