Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Principal Fraud Strategist to own authentication and device trust end-to-end across web and mobile, shaping strategy, orchestration, and policy with a focus on reducing account takeover and fraud. You will manage multiple vendors and collaborate with IAM, InfoSec, Fraud Ops, and product teams.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent work experience, and 15+ years of work experience in Fraud Strategy, Authentication Risk, Device Intelligence, or Adversarial Security Engineering.
• ATO and Scam Defense: Track record reducing account takeover and scam losses across banking, card, crypto, and P2P surfaces; fluent across credential exposure, login compromise, in-session manipulation, and money movement.
• Perimeter Threat Fluency: Understanding of credential stuffing, MFA bombing, OTP interception, SIM swap, and emulator-driven automation with telemetry-informed policy actions.
• Device Intelligence and Forensics: Experience with device fingerprinting, emulator/VM detection, jailbreak/root signals, biometrics, and entity graphs; hands-on with multiple vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end strategy for authentication and device trust across web and mobile.
• Architect layered perimeter defense against ATO, scam, credential stuffing, and MFA threats.
• Lead device trust: identification, recognition, intelligence, and signal development.
• Orchestrate vendor stack: integration design, data flow, and decision timing across Mosaic and partners.
• Design step-up authentication, account recovery, and high-risk transaction decisioning.
• Lead 3DS, CNP, and tokenization decisioning to optimize approvals.
• Partner with threat intel to translate insights into rule changes and signals.
• Set technical bar for durable fraud defense and mentor the fraud strategy team.
