Job summary

The University of Denver is seeking an Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life to provide operational leadership for FSL within a broad leadership and engagement department. You will oversee day-to-day operations, advise governing councils, supervise staff, and collaborate with campus partners to advance a values-based, inclusive FSL experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Leadership Studies, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in fraternity and sorority life, student leadership development, or closely related student affairs areas.
• Demonstrated experience advising fraternities and sororities, governing councils, or large student organizations.
• Experience leading leadership development, education, and training initiatives for students.
• Experience with supervision of professional and/or graduate staff.
• Demonstrated commitment to student-centered practice and inclusive community development.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Fraternity & Sorority Life community, overseeing chapter and council operations, recruitment and intake processes, community standards, and long-term strategic planning.
• Advise FSL governing councils, chapter leaders, and advisors while leading leadership development, student-centered education, and values-based training that integrates peer mentorship, student employment learning outcomes, and service-oriented leadership practices.
• Lead community-wide risk management, behavioral accountability, and crisis response in partnership with campus stakeholders; support students and organizations through incident response, CARE processes, and policy education.
• Graduate staff supporting FSL; manage budgets, assessment, data reporting, and operational systems; ensure onboarding, training, and evaluation of staff and student leaders.
• Collaborate across the Department of Leadership & Service to align FSL with student employment, peer mentorship, and community service initiatives; engage campus and external partners; assess outcomes to enhance leadership learning.
