Job summary

Lumicity is seeking a Founding Thermal Engineer (Lead) for a New Space and Energy initiative in Southern California. The role leads the full lifecycle of thermal system development for space platforms.

You will own spacecraft thermal design, thermal modeling, trade studies, and testing, collaborating across engineering disciplines to set thermal requirements and standards for flight readiness and mission success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in thermal engineering in aerospace or high-performance systems.
• Expertise in thermal analysis, modeling, and spacecraft thermal control.
• Experience with active and passive thermal management and TVac testing.
• Proficiency with COMSOL, ANSYS, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced R&D.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of thermal system development from architecture to testing.
• Own spacecraft thermal design, modeling, and trade studies.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to define thermal requirements.
• Establish and maintain thermal engineering standards for the program.
