Job summary

BMC Software, Inc. is seeking a senior engineer to deploy and customize its agentic AI for customers, including on-prem, hyperscaler, and OpenShift environments.

You will own features end-to-end, work with customer teams across regions, and drive pragmatic engineering standards like CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• 8-13 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Python and software‑engineering fundamentals; knowledge of LLM/RAG/agents/prompt engineering.
• Experience with containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and CI/CD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; comfortable with customer interactions.

You work directly with customers to develop, customize, and deploy BMC’s agentic AI in real operational environments. • Deploy, configure, and customize BMC’s agentic AI in customer environments (on-prem, hyperscaler, or OpenShift), ensuring value from Day 1.
• Take ownership of features and integrations end-to-end, even when requirements are incomplete or evolving.
• Build integrations with customer systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Support proofs‑of‑concept and pilots end-to-end; resolve technical and business blockers; keep stakeholders informed.
• Work directly with customers across regions/time zones, with travel as required.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor on agentic‑AI adoption with human‑in‑the‑loop, governed approaches.
• Bring field learnings back to product and engineering based on real usage.
• Contribute pragmatic engineering standards - CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Define repeatable deployment, integration, and value‑realization patterns across customers.
• Lead complex/strategic accounts technically; elevate systemic product gaps with prioritization.
• Coach and raise the bar for the acceleration engineering practice.
• Align Product, Engineering, Security, and Customer teams on shared field standards.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• Typically 8-13 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Python and software‑engineering fundamentals; LLM/RAG/agents/prompt engineering literacy (depth scales with level).
• Containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and CI/CD as level requires.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; customer comfort scales with level.
• Rapid prototyping and ownership; willingness to travel as needed.
• Multi‑engagement or multi‑team adoption of practices you led.
• Sets delivery standards for customer engineering, not only excels on one account.
• Balances customization pressure with productized, supportable solutions.
