Job summary

RX relief is seeking a Principal Formulation Scientist to lead the scientific development of complex patient-specific therapies in a national search for a highly specialized 503A compounding program. This is a senior, research-driven role focusing on innovative formulation development, not traditional dispensing.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharmaceutics or pharmaceutical sciences, with expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding, master records, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Design and develop complex sterile and non-sterile compounded formulations.
• Evaluate APIs, excipients, dosage forms, concentrations, and delivery methods.
• Review and improve existing formulations for accuracy and reproducibility.
• Develop evidence-based beyond-use dating strategies using stability data and literature.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize complex sterile and non-sterile compounded formulations.
• Evaluate APIs, excipients, vehicles, dosage forms, concentrations, and delivery methods.
• Review and improve an extensive library of existing formulations for accuracy and reproducibility.
• Develop evidence-based beyond-use dating strategies using stability data, literature, USP guidance, and analytical evidence.
• Research compatibility, degradation pathways, preservative systems, packaging, storage, and shipping requirements.
• Create master formulation records and standardized preparation procedures.
• Partner with physicians and leadership to develop patient-specific therapies.
• Establish scalable formulation development processes for clinical growth.
• Train personnel on new formulations and procedures.
• Evaluate literature and research to support formulation decisions.
